Update

Well. Today was a interesting day....
Woke up and ate the best platains and beans. (We have eaten a lot of beans so far on this trip.) Right after we ate we went to at the orphanage and painted, cleaned up chicken blood, mopped floors, and moved a giant freezer. I personally painted a wall, held a dead chicken in a trash bag, and moved the gigantic freezer with frozen blood. I only did that, which was barely anything compared to the work we have been doing for the last couple days. It was a great time working with my friends and leaders. After we finished our work projects, the guys and I went to a basketball gym and played basketball with the local Guatemalans. First time playing internationally and I racked up 0 points and a few rebounds. I put my blood, sweat and tears into that game! Literally, Devon and I were dying after the first few minutes. These Guatemalans were in SHAPE! They ran all over the court and Devon and I both were dripping sweat. Just imagine boys who had painted a wall running around in shirts with a bunch of paint on them. That was one of the best experiences in my life. Playing with Mr. LINDSEY!, Devon, Gavin, and two volunteers from the orphanage. It was GRINGOS vs the locals. It was all friendly before it started and then we dominated! Mr. Lindsey is a complete animal when it comes to basketball. He was our team but nobody tell him he's good--haha. After we played, we went straight to the teachers' house (the volunteers who teach the kids live there). I got to see them go crazy when they received the gifts we brought them. It was like they never had seen some of the candy we brought. It was great. After that we walked across the street to the orphanage. Just to remind you that Devon, Gavin, Mr, Lindsey and I skipped lunch to play basketball, so we were kind of hungry. We went to the orphanage and played with the kids. I played with my friend Justin. Justin is so funny. We played tagged and copied each other's movements. His smile is so cute and I love him soooo much. He then saw some poop on the play ground and starting throwing rocks at the poop for about 15 mins. Also everytime I said something in Spanish he started making fun of me because I couldn't say the words right. He was laughing so much! Justin is 5-years old. My other friend Johnathan also wanted to play. Johnathan is probably the cutest kid on earth; he's about 3-4 years old ! He's a little chubby--okay, he's really chubby!! He has huge cheeks and weighs a lot! He only wanted me to hold him and lift him  "arriba." Every time I picked him up and lifted him super high, the biggest smile was on his face! It was one of my favorite moments so far. I had fun with him and got a solid arm workout at the same time. It was really nice to see these kids. They only want to play. Honestly they don't care what or where they are, they just want to laugh and smile and play and have a great time. Once play time was over, we all made peanut butter sandwiches for the kids and they loved it! We went home and ate dinner and then went back to the orphanage for a bond fire. It was sad because it was the last time we will see these kids. Johnathan fell alseep in my arms. He was HEAVY but it was very peaceful and gosh I love him so much! It was such a great day and every moment was so special! These kids taught me that no matter what happens in your life, you must always enjoy it and make the best of it.

Your kids are awesome. They are selfless, caring, compassionate, and loving people. Their love for the children they have met is astounding. Their work ethic is unmatched. Thank you for allowing them to be down here with us!
